FAQ
Quick answers for buyers, sellers, and campus plugs using ShopPepe.
What is ShopPepe?
ShopPepe is a Gen Z marketplace where buyers discover products from approved student sellers and growing Kenyan businesses.
How do I buy products?
Browse products, filter by category or shop, add items to your cart, then open the cart page to enter your contact and delivery details.
How do I become a seller?
Create an account, open the seller application page, submit your business details, campus information, and seller photo, then wait for admin approval. Once approved, you build your shop page — that's where you add your logo, Instagram and TikTok handles, and WhatsApp number.
How do seller approvals work?
Admins review seller applications first. Approved sellers can create a shop, and shops also need approval before products can be listed publicly.
Can I shop from sellers in my university?
Yes. Product filters include university and campus when the seller has added that information to their shop profile.
How do payments work?
Choose cash on delivery or pickup, or select M-Pesa and pay the seller after confirming the amount and recipient. Placing an order does not charge you, and ShopPepe does not hold buyer funds.
How does delivery or pickup work?
During checkout, add your pickup point or delivery notes. Sellers use those details to coordinate delivery or campus pickup.
Are sellers approved?
Sellers apply before selling, admins approve seller accounts, and shop profiles are reviewed before public products appear. Approval reduces risk but is not a guarantee.
What is not allowed?
Unsafe, illegal, counterfeit, stolen, adult, weapon-related, or misleading listings are not allowed, and every listing goes through review before it appears publicly. Some services are banned outright: doing someone’s graded coursework or exams, sexual services, unlicensed medical or financial work, hacking or account access, and fake documents. Tutoring, proofreading, typing and printing someone’s own work are all fine.
How do I report a seller or product?
Use the contact form on the help page, email support@shoppepe.co.ke, or WhatsApp +254 702 709 395 with the seller name, product name, and a short explanation of the issue.
How do refunds or returns work?
Refunds and returns are sorted by each store owner because every shop manages its own products and customer agreements. Contact the seller first, then reach Pepe support if you need help following up.
Can I book services on ShopPepe?
Yes. Alongside products, approved student providers list services you can book: braids and barbering, nails and makeup, laundry and cleaning, tutoring, printing and CVs, phone and laptop repairs, photography, design, events and decor, catering, tailoring, deliveries, fitness coaching and hire. Open Services to see who is on your campus.
How does booking a service work?
Tap Book, choose the day and whether you want morning, afternoon or evening, say how many hours or pages if it is priced that way, and add a note about what you need. Place it from your cart like any order. The provider then confirms the exact time and the final price with you on WhatsApp — ShopPepe does not charge you and does not hold your money. A booking is a request until they accept it.
How do I offer a service?
Apply as a seller, and once you are approved choose “A service” when you add a listing. You set how it is priced — a fixed price, a starting price, or per hour, session, person, item, page, kilo or day — where it happens, roughly how long it takes, how much notice you need, and the area you cover. A service never runs out of stock, so there is nothing to keep topping up.
